Emerald Horizon AG has taken an important step in its international expansion: by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emerald Horizon Asia Sdn. Bhd. (Kuala Lumpur), we are laying the foundation for long-term cooperation in Southeast Asia. Particularly noteworthy: a high-ranking delegation from the Malaysian royal family travelled to Graz specifically to learn about our technologies and discuss possible application scenarios in the region. Why this partnership is strategically important: the royal delegation’s visit underscores Malaysia’s particular interest in European high-tech solutions for energy and storage. The aim of the cooperation is to prepare our technologies for market readiness in the region and to initiate pilot projects.
Specific objectives of the MoU:
- Structured market entry in Southeast Asia via Emerald Horizon Asia
- Preparation of joint pilot projects for ADES (Accelerator Driven Energy Source) and CALstore (high-temperature liquid salt storage)
- Coordination of certification, regulatory compliance and local approvals
- Establishment of local service and sales structures with regional partners
- Strong local partnerships: Joanneum Research & regional industry
Our presentation at the MoU event was given jointly with JOANNEUM RESEARCH and industry partners such as AVL, ANDRITZ and ACstyria. Joanneum Research supports us in particular with:
- scientific validation
- technical support for pilot projects
- certification and quality issues
Why Malaysia and the region matter: Malaysia currently plays a prominent role in regional bodies and is showing great interest in technologies that combine security of supply, industrialisation and sustainability. The visit by the royal delegation sends a clear signal: the region wants to secure early access to forward-looking technologies. What does this mean for Emerald Horizon? This partnership is a milestone in our internationalisation strategy. It enables us to address local market entry barriers in a targeted manner and to work with regional players to create the conditions for pilot projects and series deliveries.
